Choice Middle School Magnets (MCMC)

If your child attends any of the choice/lottery Magnet middle schools will a younger sibling automatically attend the same school? Further, will the middle schooler automatically go to the HS in their consortium or another magnet or will they return to their home HS school (or a magnet HS they are accepted into?)

I don't know the exact answer about siblings, but it does say that there is a sibling preference component to the lottery on the MCPS site. Middle school students who go to a choice school (Parkland, Argyle, and Loiederman) have the choice of either returning to their home school for HS or attending any of the DCC consortium schools.

Ohhh, so they can attend any of the DCC consortium HS schools automatically? They don't have to be accepted?

They have to go through the lottery process like everyone else. If they live outside the DCC, they can only do the second round of the lottery. They can apply to DCC-only magnets though, like Wheaton and CAP.
