| I keep getting letters from my dealer saying they want to buy my 2012 car. I still am paying it off and want to know if it would be better to sell it back to them now? Why do they want a 2012 used car anyway? |
| Because they want you to buy a new car. |
| I sometimes get letters about my 2004. If not your car they want. They want to sell you a new one. |
| OP here, do you know if you get a good deal when you sell it back to dealer? |
| Kelley Blue Book. Google it. |
| What kind of car is it? |
Don't be a D*ck. I am well aware of KBB. I was looking for anyone who has done this before. Don't bother responding if you can't contribute. |
MB C300 |
Sure, you just have to negotiate. I recently sold my 2008 Nissan Altima for $3000. The KBB was $1,400 - $1,800. I simply told the dealer I wanted $3k, and I left when they said they couldn’t do it. I had leverage, though. I had the title and a pre-approved check in hand. |
Sorry, I forgot to add that they called me back when I was on my way home.

| Do you post a topic on every piece of junk mail you get? |
OP, this is just something that the local MB dealerships around here do. I get weekly postcards from Bethesda Euromotors and Tysons Mercedes Benz to buy my 2011 ML350. They want to temp you with buying another car. I got one Saturday from Arlington MB to pay me about 40% over KBB value if I bought another car. But I'm saving Bessie for my teenager. |
^^Are you always a d*ck or just online when you can be anonymous? Get off this thread if you can't contribute. |
Thanks for the info--this is from Tysons MB dealer. I previously had an Audi and never got asked to sell car back, so I was curious why MB was interested. |
I just recently got a bunch of calls, emails and letters from MB arlington asking to buy my 2013 GL 450. They will give me say $25k for it and then I will ONLY have to pay $56k for a brand new 2019 GLS 450. That’s basically MSRP, and I would never pay MSRP for their cars that fall part in just a few years. |
