timing of second shot

Is the second shot less or not effective if it isn't received within 30 days of the first? This is for a child under 3.

I just researched this for my under 1 yo. I believe I found it on the CDC website but I know it was a reputable source regardless. No, it doesn't have to be 28 days later exactly as long as it is at least 28 days later. My LO got the first dose in August, and I realized I wanted to get the second dose before his next well visit, but of course the pediatrician is still waiting for the new shipment. The downside of waiting longer is that full immunity doesn't come until a bit after the second dose.

Ah, thank you! My pediatrician is just now vaccinating this age but only those children who haven't had any shot at all. We'll just have to wait or go into DC.
