They used to do a fairly simple check called MIRL monthly. They also did MCLASS a couple times a year.

There are multiple district wide measures (MAP, mClass, DIBELS, MIRL) as well as teacher anecdotal observations.

Keep in mind, teachers are looking for fluency, accuracy, and comprehension, as well as how students respond to the comprehension questions in writing.

Do you have specific concerns?

what is it supposed to be? No idea. My kid doesnt seem uper advanced and is at level N per today's report card,

Do you happen yo know his EOY 1st grade reading level and his q1 reading level?
