PP is totally incorrect.

If you are pregnant or TTC you CAN NOT get the mist!

They will give you the single shot Novartis injectible if they have. If not, the other one is approved for pregnant women (but less ideal).

Please make sure you do not get the mist- it is a live virus and could pose a risk to you/your baby potentially.

If you are TTC then you theoretically COULD be pregnant and may not know it (too early for pregnancy test to show).

Flu Mist would be bad news so very early in the first trimester (i.e. week 1-2).

That is why TTC people should avoid the mist unless they know for sure they are NOT pregnant.

HOW do you get the shot if you are TTC?

The clinics are for pregnant women. I didn't feel like I could go line up and ask for the shot and say "well, I'm not pregnant but I'm trying." I didn't think they would give it to me, and I thought other people would think I was a jerk - I mean, then any woman of childbearing age can go in and get the shot if she claims she's not pregnant yet but trying. Is it just on the honor system?

i am ttc and received the shot at cvs - was not thim-free though... i asked if it would affect ovulation and they said no, but this is the first time EVER that i am so far five days late to ovulate. it may be a coincidence, but don't know for sure.

Technically, the form says "pregnant or could be pregnant in the next month" so it's up to you whether you want to get it while TTC or wait until you have a positive HPT. FWIW, I called DC DOH with this exact question several weeks ago and was told that I could go to the clinic and ask if I could get the shot.

I got the shot while TTC and, because I chart, I knew at the time I got the shot I wasn't pregnant. But I'm glad I did, becuase now I am pregnant. So technically, I did get the shot during my "first" week (i.e., the week I started my period).
