Hi,
Does anyone have recommendation for a cooking summer camp? Thank you! Tomoko |
|
Bullis has cooking and baking camps through its Pick 3 option.
There is also a baking camp at Tilden MS: https://getcakedup.com/shop?olsPage=products%2Fsummer-camp-register-for-2019 Tiny Chefs: https://tinychefs.com/kids-cooking-camps/summer-camps/ |
| Thank you! I will look into them. |
| Does Sur la table have one? |
Yes and they're fantastic! Tho they're ususally 2-3 hours only..... Maybe little chefs? MoCo Recreation has some cooking camps too. There's also a cooking school up in Frederick and AShburn/Leesburg that has kid cooking camps. |
| Sur La Table looks fun. I love that they work in groups. |
| How old is the child? My daughter did the Sweets & Treats at Sidwell Summer - Bethesda last summer - loved it and made some great things. I think they added other options for this summer. |
|
Piggybacking on this to ask: any of these that would be a serious cooking camp for middle schoolers?
Mine already bakes a lot, does a bit of cooking for herself, but could use a "boot camp" kind of thing where they learn proper knife skills, kitchen safety, basic techniques like sautéing, etc. |

Culinaria in Vienna is awesome.
https://culinariacookingschool.com/ Our kids loved it last summer. |
| I am looking for something for a middle school aged child that is beyond beginner. |
+100 My middle schooler attended their "teen camp" last summer and loved it. She learned a great deal and had a great time. The teacher named Brian is really great. |
| Any cooking camp for teen in Maryland area especially Potomac/Rockville/Bethesda? |
| The culinaria one in Vienna sounds awesome! |
| Tiny Chef's Teen Chef "Foundations of Cooking" program may be what you have in mind. |
