We are considering moving our DC from private to Cooper MS AAP (which we already have eligibility for).
The main reasons are tuition costs have risen almost $10k since we started, socially it has been hard on our DC and the commute it exhausting. We don't know how Cooper is at the AAP level so any thoughts would be much appreciated. From the academics, to the social. thank you! |

| OP - which private school? |
One of the big ones- the ones people strive for. But the tuition is killing us. |
| It'll be fine. Rough at first then fine. |

OP, my 3rd child is in AAP at Cooper now (other two were also AAP at Cooper). We have loved Cooper, but on this forum you will get so much hate that you will probably not get much useful feedback.
I suggest you find a neighbor who can discuss the pros and cons or other actual people (not here anonymously) who have had kids in AAP at CMS. The classes are larger than what your DC will be used to, but the teachers are engaged and excited to teach. Find someone you know to ask or else call the school and they can put you in touch with someone on the PTO who can answer specific questions. |
Thank you. This was very helpful. |
| Found this thread with the exact Same question. Would love to hear about any updates since last year and thoughts about how your child is doing! |
| From what I understand it’s about to undergo a larger renovation. |

The amazing principal is retiring and they are about to start a total renovation.
That being said, we live Cooper. Very challenging academics, writing instruction has been fabulous and the kids are kind. |
How kind are they on social media? |
| Im not the PP but I also have a DD at Cooper and we've had absolutely zero meanness or drama thus far. I'm thrilled and hope it lasts! |
