Hi all,
I used to go to this self-serve food court on K street (the kind of place where you pay according to weight) and it had the most delicious cold noodles. They look like glass and had some Asian seasoning/sauce with it. Has anyone seen this/know what I am talking about? Thanks! |

Are they yellowish in color and usually mixed with vegetables and bits of beef?
It might be Korean Jap Chae. |
| No, they are literally clear, no color to them other than from the sauce etc. |
| The Korean ones are clear but have a yellowish tint. Try looking it up and see if that's it. |
| PP you are right!! Sorry I dismissed you before. This is it. Do you know where I can buy those (already prepared)? |
| Vietnamese markets sell the cellophane noodles (they are rice noodles). |

You can buy them at pretty much any Korean grocery store. If you live near Annandale, VA, I would go to a Korean catering store.
The only downside is that they spoil relatively quickly. These noodles aren't rice noodles, but sweet potato noodles, thus the yellow tint. |
| I used to buy them at Asian grocery stores. They are very easy to make. You basically just pour hot water on them. |
| Every grocery store sells them in the Ethnic aisle where the Asian foods are. |
| What are some good ways to use them? |
| I think the pp's are confusing Vietnamese rice noodles for Korean sweet potato noodles. |
