Worth it to fix iPhone 6?

Anonymous
My phone is dying a slow death - camera isn’t working, freezes often, etc. Battery life isn’t great. Is it worth it to fix the camera and replace battery or should I just bite the bullet and get a new phone. It’s 3.5 years old. Any tips on buying new? Which model, where, etc. Also, is it true that phones bought now won’t be 5g compatible and I would also have to get a new phone to utilize that technology? I have Verizon. Thanks!

Absolutely not worth it to attempt to repair. Honestly I'd buy a new unlocked phone one generation back on eBay or Amazon. You'll save a ton of money.

Verizon has new iphone 6s phones for only $5.00/month.

You have to search through specials.

Buy a new one. Aren’t you a couple updates away from being out of storage anyway? It has to run slow because of these updates, yes?

I vote get a new one. The 6s are about obsolete - will not be able to update ios and don't have the available storage.

I love my iPhone 6 because it’s so light. I did the battery thing for 30 or 40 bucks. Totally worth it. But yours sounds broken. Mine was flawless condition except for the battery life.

Same here. Have a 6s that fits perfectly in my purse and jean pockets. Switched out the battery and will keep it as long as that one lasts. I have been able to update the ios without any issues.

NP - battery life on my 6s is terrible. How much is a new battery? Should I take it to Apple store or somewhere else? Thanks for any advice.

I loved my iphone 6 for FOUR years. It was the best phone. Finally my husband surprised my with an iPhone XR. The Apple store gave him a big credit for my 6 (but this was before Christmas).

I love my new phone more.

I vote for getting a new one. If you don't want to go all the way up to the X level, maybe look at the 7 or 8.

Best buy will price match Amazon.

Apple store offers $50 for most 6 phones. Do you consider that a big credit towards a $1000 phone?

I love my iPhone 6 and just bought 6s for mere $5 per month. I don't want better models because of the audio jack.

I got a new battery for my 6 last summer and it was not worth it. My phone has about 10 mins of battery life. Was waiting for the furlough to end to get a new one!

. NP here, I just got the XR last month, bought it directly from Tmobile. It does not cost $1000.
