Looks like Dr. Murphy and APS have had a change of heart. Despite all that analysis and community engagement and process supporting their August announcement that ASFS and Key would be swapping buildings in 2020, they are going to "reevaluate ASFS and other locations" for where to move immersion.
https://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/arlington/Board.nsf/files/B8QT7F75FA32/$file/E-1%20Annual%20Update%20presentation.pdf Page 20. Guess all you pro-swappers were right. APS does have a process that we should all respect. Let the games begin. |
I'm looking forward to this meeting. Finally some common sense. |
Appears that way -- see also slide 19 and 21 |
School Board meeting should be interesting tonight! |
The power of the blinking text on their website. |
Enrollment projections will show RB corridor can’t wait 10 years for more seats and that immersion would benefit more students at Carlin Springs? Is that where we are (finally) going with this? |
Has anyone told Nottingham yet? |
Is immersion going to Nottingham? |
Doubt it, but wasn’t it named as a possible site prior to the swap announcement? |
so now they are not doing anything on this until April? I thought the evaluation started in January?
"April through December: Reevaluate location for immersion, in preparation for 2020 boundary process" |
Good. The swap never made sense. |
Did Murphy actually discuss that going through the presentation? I've been listening and didn't hear anything, but might have missed it. |
Nothing in the discussion afterward. I'm pretty agnostic on the swap, but even I'm getting annoyed at their unwillingness to address this in a straightforward manner. If the swap is going forward, post the plan like you said you would this month. If it's not going forward and you want to look at alternative sites for the Key program, be clear about that instead of burying the suggestion in a late slide that you gloss over. |
I think it's coming up . . . |
Immersion to ATS. ATS to Nottingham. Let’s see it happen. |
