This screenshot was the second posting. I did do a search to see if I could find an earlier post I could join in, and was unsuccessful. Can you tell me what the problem with this post is?

| The first time you posted, your only source was the Daily News which is not really a legitimate source for this sort of topic. Your repost today also referenced a Post article, but it was three months old. Based on your choice of subject line, it appears that you are more interested in bashing liberals than exploring the topic of unconscious biases. Unconscious bias is something that exists in most aspects of human behavior, not just politics. As such, that topic could be discussed without even bringing up politics. |
The Daily Mail was the source I ran across first because my first discussion of this (not on this site) was with Europeans. I was interested in having a conversation with US people about it. When it was initially deleted, I suspected you might be biased against the Daily Mail, so found a new source. I don't believe there was anything in my post that was "bashing" either the first time or the second. Can you point out where you think I was? The topic could not be discussed without bringing up politics because the study was about white liberals and white conservatives. I debated off topic rather than politics, but due to the focus of the study, chose politics as being more appropriate. If I post it in off topic, will you delete it? |
Your post didn't say anything about how white conservatives talk to black people, or any other people for that matter. If you want to talk about unconscious bias, or even more narrowly, unconscious bias in politics, why do you need to highlight white liberals talking to black people? Why didn't you title your post, "Study finds that conservatives don't care about affiliating with minorities"? I don't see how the thread you want to post will do anything but generate replies about how liberals are the real racists and hypocrites. If you really want to have an in-depth, nuanced discussion of the article, it's not going to happen here. Nobody will wade through that entire article in order to provide an informed response. It would simply be flinging insults. |
My first post did talk about white conservatives, and how they don't speak as often to minority audiences and that was an element addressed in the study. And you deleted that. I titled both posts based on the title of the articles I was referencing. As for why the newspapers didn't title the articles differently, you'd need to address that with them. A quick scan of the titles in politics right now doesn't lend any weight to the idea that you have a strong dislike of provocative titles, and most of those were created out of whole cloth by the people posting them, not quoting directly from articles. Liberals are often racists and hypocrites. So are conservatives. The politics subforum is heavily invested in pointing out racism and hypocrisy - such as a the MAGA kid thread, which you just posted you're not ready to close. "I am turning into the person who looks at people who watch Fox at the gym with hate." is apparently something you think that will inspire in-depth nuanced discussion, and not flinging of insults. But discussing a study, nope, too fraught. Thanks for the response. |
