Trump breaks laws right and left. He is under investigation, after all. And he refuses to show his tax returns. Why? What's there that he doesn't want anyone to know?

Why is he going on about DACA kids? My understanding is those who benefit from DACa are no longer children.

None of the disagreement is even about what is in the CR -- it's about what's not, which isn't do or die at this point because Dems will be back in a position to shut it all down in a month if they don't get a compromise by then.

Let's not forget there are plenty of Republicans who want to keep DACA. The top business lobby right now has giant banners celebrating the Dreamers right across from the White House.

I think Trump was horrifically wrong to talk about 'shithole' countries, but I think Dems own part of this by putting energy into smearing, rather than rising above to focus on a deal.

The DACA deadline is long past. Every day people are falling out of DACA status right now. It’s a mess.

My American kid cannot get MA in state tuition despite the fact that we’ve paid taxes in MA for 15 years. DACA kids from all over the country can.

Shut it down

Not true. DACA kids with MA residency get in-state tuition in MA. You've posted here before. You aren't a resident of MA so you don't pay income tax there. You just have a vacation property. Move to MA if you really want residency.

They are not legal residents

All I'm going from his speech is he wanted to make a point on the anniversary of 1 year of Trump.

Except the DACA kids did not break the law. Their parents did.

So if I stole a nice car and drove my kids around in it and they liked the car because they could watch their movies in the back seat should my kids get to keep the car because they like it and they themselves didn't steal it?

Please tell me you don't actually have kids.

McConnell rejected it.

This is on McConnell and no one else.

Any more on why McConnell refused? Mystery to me why he won’t bring anything to a vote.

I think he doesn’t know what Trump wants, and therefore doesn’t know what he’ll sign, because Trump appears to keep changing his mind. It is also an ongoing challenge to whip the hard right Freedom caucus.

Isn’t it McConnell’s job to find out what trump wants?

McC did that. Then Trump literally flip flopped and backed out on what he said he’d agree to. Perhaps someone in his Admin said “consider your base.”

Trump is making McConnell’s job far more difficult than it had to be.

And that means they get benefits American citizens don't get, because?

Because our system is broken and cannot properly address issues with any nuance.

However, American citizens do get in-state tuition at some state schools, just not the ones where they are not residents.

How is kicking someone out of what's become their home country any way to rectify this inequality? It's just cruel.

He's not going to Florida tonight, is he? If there's no deal?

He's trying to
