We sat on a sofa at the Ballard Designs store which was *so* comfortable. Has anyone purchased a sofa or upholstered chair from them? How was the quality on arrival and how has it held up? We are empty-nesters, so whatever we buy will be treated gently! Thanks!

Not sofa per se but we've bought many things from Ballard Designs and have consistently been happy with their quality. |
Their furniture is junky but their decor items are pretty good. |
Last year during High Point, Lee Industries posted a picture of two women with their staff and tagged it "we love seeing our vendors!"
That makes me think some of the Ballard upholstery is now being made by Lee, which is one of the companies. Of course, someone could just go to the store in Tysons and ask... |
Ballard will not disclose their supplies, but Lee makes furniture/upholstery for many chains, so this is almost a sure thing |
OP here. Thanks, this is very helpful! |
If the Ballard furniture is coming from Lee, then it's new.
We had a Ballard sofa that was crap- the cushions flattened very quickly and we only kept it two years. I have some upholstered chairs from Ballard also. One set is awesome and look great 10+ years after purchase, the other faded and the cushion flattened pretty quickly. |
I’ve bought a few pieces of furniture from Ballard, but not a couch. The few pieces I have bought are poorly made and haven’t lasted well. |
Good way to loose business!! |
Ask them where the specific sofa is made. They’ll tell you. You want a hardwood frame made in NC. As long as that’s the case, you’re probably good to go. Cushion fill etc is preference. |
I bought a mirror from them and it was complete junk. |
