Legoland accommodation

Anonymous
We are thinking of taking our kids (5/3/2 years old) to Legoland in January. We are travelling on the way back from a holiday in Australia, flying via LA and hiring a car to get to San Diego. Can someone recommend a place to stay for two nights - we will need something with at least two separate rooms, and a kitchenette. As we will have the car, it doesn't need to be right next door to Legoland, but preferably not more than 15-20 minute drive.
Thank you!

I've heard very nice things about La Costa - family oriented, multiple bedrooms, etc.

LaCosta is beautiful and very close. If your budget doesn't allow it, I have stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Carlsbad (where Legoland is) and it is very nice and super-reasonable. It is also very close. 1 and 2 bedroom suites with a full kitchen and living room for under $200 a night.

The pool and hotel grounds are not even in the same category as LaCosta, which is a resort, but it depends on how much time you plan on being in the hotel and how much time you will spend at Legoland.
