What is age appropriate for Tik Tok?

I have an almost 11 year old who really wants to download it into her phone. I got the musical.ly app a while ago because my daughter was making videos on a friend's phone using the app and I wanted to see what it was. The first few videos I saw where inappropriate for my daughter. One was of two girls singing and dancing the Anaconda song in bras and cheeky shorts/undies and putting their butts in closeup. I just rather avoid that while she is going through puberty. I wouldn't mind if only her friends could see her videos and vice versa, so I'm asking if anyone knows if tik tok has a "friend" setting, no a public only setting or is it the same as musical.ly Thanks.

my 13 yo has it and shares videos just with her sister and one good friend. from what she tells me, her account is private. i don't know what else she sees on the app. will need to dig into that.

This is embarrassing to admit, but my daughter went viral on Tik Tok a few months ago. I think she said she got featured on a front page or something?

She is 15 and she and her friends are in 10th grade. They are all fully dressed in jeans and either sweatshirts or t-shirts and just singing (or mouthing) songs. Totally tame for them and the other kids they're following.
