FCPS Delay Wed?

With the cancellation of evening activities tonight due to an expected re-freeze should we expect another 2 hour delay tomorrow?

And I’m now wondering about evening activities tomorrow!

They are cancelling night activities because of concerns about refreezing on the sidewalks, drive ways, parking lots, and roads. The sun has been out most of the day and the vast majority of the sidewalks and roads were fine for kids today. Yes, there were some exceptions to that but exceptions should not close down the entire school system.

So they opened schools today because there was enough area that was deemed safe to hold school. They are cancelling night time activities because there is concern that those activities might not be safe.

And I have no idea how sexual identity has anything to do with the decision.

They should delay. Lots of slick spots because a few people in the school neighborhood don't seem to care if the kids break a leg or wrist on the ice. It should be mandatory if you live near a school you must shovel and deal with ice.

It is mandatory to clear the sidewalks in front of your house, it simply is not enforced frequently enough. People can be fined for not shoveling.

Actually, you are incorrect in Fairfax County. There are no regulations requiring snow removal of your sidewalks in Fairfax County. Now if you’re in a homeowners association, you may face fines if you don’t clear your sidewalks. I don’t live in an HOA so I’m not required to clear my sidewalk.
