Will the DC clinics give my kids their 2nd dose?

Anonymous
It's been just over 21 days since my kids got their first dose of the H1N1 mist. Anyone know if the DC clinics will give them the 2nd dose? Or wil they turn us away? I'd like to take them on Thursday.

I don't see why they would give you a problem, but I might lie and say it is the first dose. Flumist doses need to be 28 days apart though, at least per the CDC website (provider region). Shots can be only 21 days apart.

19:26, can you link to where it says that on the CDC website (that flumist needs to be 28 days apart)?

All I can find is this:

What will be the recommended interval between the first and second dose for children 9 years of age and under?

CDC recommends that the two doses of 2009 H1N1 vaccine be separated by 4 weeks. However, if the second dose is separated from the first dose by at least 21 days, the second dose can be considered valid.

The FluMist insert says the two doses should be "at least one month apart" but the CDC seems to contradict that.

I think that the CDC spacing refers to the minimum time between exposure for the correct development of the immune response, and the FluMist spacing is an additional constraint to protect the nasal passages. I haven't verified this, but that was my impression.
