| We are in the middle of a lease for a car that appears to meet the qualifications for a lemon. We either want to get out of our lease altogether and fine a new car or be given a car by the manufacturer to replace this one. We have now had to take it to be fixed 5 times for the same problem (computer-related, so basically a manufacturing defect), it seems to be unfixable and we have wasted countless hours and time dealing with this, not to mention the annoyance. I have never had a car with this many issues, and it's a brand new car! Anyone go through something similar? |
| Ask dealer to swap it for another, citing lemon law. If that doesn’t work, get a lawyer to write a letter for you. |

Which manufacturer? Some have a reputation for being easy to work with (i.e. Lexus) and others will ignore you and hope you go away (i.e. VW/Audi) which essentially forces you to lawyer up.
Lemon laws in DC/MD/VA vary slightly but all will apply to a leased vehicle. |
The dealership is an independent franchise, the manufacturer is ultimately the one who buys the car back (whether voluntarily or "by force"). |
Honda per chance? |
That was my guess too. They are impossible to deal with. I wish the Toyota van was better looking - I’d love to switch! |
Toyota van totally worth it. |
PP here. I may do it anyway. Honda is annoying. |

Honda’s are the most reliable vehicles on the road today.
The only competing brand@ would be Toyota. Bar none. |
