| I like method sprays but they don’t disinfect so not sure if they’re worth continuing using. We eat off the island so I’m weary using something like 409 since it’s inevitable that my kids will spill food and eat off the counter. Help! |
| How much disinfecting does your island need? I usually just eipevwith a damp towel. |
| Disinfecting sprays are a scam that is bad for the environment and human health. Wipe your counter with a damp rag. Done. |
| Yeah, I only bring out the bleach spray if I've just prepped raw chicken or meat. Method spray is fine for your eating surface. You can't be insane about food safety in the home, just reasonable, unless you have someone with a compromised immune system. The physical removal of potential harm by spraying and wiping is fine. |

| OP here thanks! I’ll stick to method unless meat is involved. Guess I’m overthinking it! |
| Another question - do you guys use a separate rag or sponge for the counter than the dishes? |
| I grew up in family of ten, we wiped with a hot washcloth daily, and once a week with cleanser. That was formica but still... |
Yes. I have a pile of microfiber cloths under the sink for the counter. The sink scrubby is for dishes only. Oh and we just do soap and hot water for our quartz counters. No one has gotten any food borne illnesses in my family. |
| I use Method granite cleaner. |
Grammar police: weary means very tired. Wary means you are worried and concerned. |
| I use Mr. Clean antibactierial cleaner and I clean my kitchen after every meal prep. |
| Soap and water typically but it does not feel truly clean and shiny -- on my big "cleaning days (1x or 2x a week) i use granite cleaner to get a shine. |
| Use sponge frequently, spray bottle with vinegar/water when house cleaning (weekly). |

I use this
https://www.lysol.com/new-lysol-daily-cleanser/ And just dish detergent and water. Both make the granite shine. |
