No new files released this week. They have reportedly only released around 1% of what they hold, and what little they released was heavily redacted.

Bondi, Patel and DOJ are OUT OF COMPLIANCE with the law compelling release. They need to be hauled in and grilled, and impeachment proceedings against them need to start.

As of Friday Jan 16th

The DOJ has filed a motion to block the appointment of an independent monitor to release the Epstein files in the Ghislaine Maxwell case.

The DOJ argues that federal courts lack the authority to enforce the Epstein Transparency Act…

and that Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie don’t have standing to recommend an independent monitor.

In short, it appears the DOJ’s position is that no court can force them to produce the files

This is why I’m increasingly beginning to believe that Trump & Co have turned this into a grift. People who are implicated are paying to be removed and Trump wants to keep the “last chance to clear your name” offer going as long as possible.

So there argument is basically that Congress doesn’t have the authority to pass laws and they can just be ignored. That will get them laughed out of court.
