The Fairfax County Health Department has set target groups for the Saturday, November 7th H1N1 mass vaccination clinic at the Fairfax County Government Center. The Nov. 7 H1N1 vaccination clinic will target only: Children 4 years through 9 years of age Children 10 years through 18 years of age who have certain medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications: Cancer Blood disorders (including sickle cell disease) Chronic lung disease [such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)] Diabetes Heart disease Kidney disorders Liver disorders Neurological disorders (such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, brain or spinal cord injuries, moderate to profound intellectual disability [mental retardation] or developmental delay) Neuromuscular disorders (such as muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis) Weakened immune systems (such as people with HIV or AIDS or who are on medications that weaken the immune system) More details: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/flu/ |
