| Is Florida State trashy? DS is a good student w 3.9 GPA at a public in MD, going into business. Also looking at UF, which is better for business? Is UF superior? |
| Florida is better but both are good. FSU is like 1350 SATs but a more woodsy crowd. UF is like 1450 SATs and more cosmopolitan crowd. Both have big party scene but again, very good schools. |
| Uh, no. Enrolled SAT at FSU is 1190-1330 according to their CDS. |
| UF 1240-1400. Not sure why people just make up fake numbers and post them as facts. It’s like you’re the president or something. |
|
Both PPs are totally ignorant of the admission process. Common data set is not specific to BUSINESS major that OP was asking about. If you think your kid can get into Florida’s business school with the average common data set stats as OOS, I have a bridge to sell you. |
| Both are very good, and getting increasingly more difficult to get into. They are both very reasonable for OOS tuition. I’d go with UF though. |
No one said that, dummy, merely that the poster was posting misleading SAT data, which is true. Or do you think that 1450/1350 was related to business majors? And if so where did that come from? Poster’s ass. |
| NP. I would not be surprised if those were the numbers for the b-school. It’s extraordinarily competitive. |
| You're not getting into either one with less than a 1400. Maybe 1450 by next year. Unless you're an amazing football player, of course. |
|
Florida is hard to get into.
Florida state is easier, a great school, good school spirit. FSU has a program where you can live on campus like a student and take community college classes. If you have a certain GPA you automatically are admitted to FSU. If you are African American Florida has a similar program but you are at a different school for 2 years. |
| I think UF is better but not sure about business. FSU is definitely trashy. |
|
UF’s rankings, research funding, admission standards, and endowment have gone up the last 10-15 years.
It’s a top 10 public school and consistently ranks in the top 5 as a best value school. |
Florida State? No. Tallahassee? Yeah, probably. |
| University of Florida is ranked near Georgia Tech, William and Mary, University of Rochester, and Boston College. It’s an amazing school! And out of state tuition is only $28K! Very reasonable. |
