Before/after-care costs

Anonymous
My child will begin Kindergarten next year and I'm trying to get an idea of what before and after-care costs will be. How much should I plan on budgeting?

Depends on the school and the program. Ours is a little over $500 for aftercare and another $60 or so if you need before care.

Look and see what company your school uses. Ours uses KAH. You csn look at their website for pricing. We only use PT after school care 2 days a week and pay a sahm Mom with kid same age as mine $30 a day. ( 350pm-630pm)

Depends on the school. Our school doesn't even have an aftercare program. Our off-site aftercare program costs $85/week. PG Co.

In my child's elementary school, the cost for the after school care provided by the school onsite only is about $60 for 5 days. It goes from 3:30-6pm. The contract is from the beginning to the end of school. We have not used the morning before care. This year, we have to pay additional if we want to cover winter and spring break.

Also, sometimes other vendors provide after school activities such as stem club, music, cheerleading, etc and the cost are separate. Different activities on different days. So, if you don't have them in the regular after care, you could put them in activities but you won't know the activities until about 3 weeks after school starts.

Same, our school in Bethesda uses Bar-T.

College Gardens Bar-T is $570 for full time. PM only was still $500 or so, and AM only was $370, so we just decided to go full time and enjoy the flexibility.

Just look up the vendor your school uses and check their website. Fees are normally listed...

Eek, hasn't Bar-T gotten in trouble lately for employing pedophiles?
