Is your spouse your best friend

Anonymous
Why or why not and are you happy about it?

He is my second best friend as we jokingly say. I have a "Gayle" (Oprah reference) that I have known for decades so she's my "real" best friend.

I dont like the "best friend" qualifier. There are 3 people in my life who would fit the "best friend" description. DH, a friend of 25 years, and a friend of 10 years.

These are the people I can go to anything about (I have some issues.opening up to people)
They know all of my secrets, my fears, etc
Who know me in and out and have seen me at my very worst and very best
I can talk to them endlessly about everything.

I feel very fortunate that DH is one of them. We have an amazing relationship because our emotional connection is so strong.

Nope. Wish he was. He lacks empathy, is judgmental and can be very defensive about some subjects. I have a BFF from high school who I love to death. She gets the real unfiltered me.
Anonymous
Yes he is. And I am for him. I’m a quiet introvert and we really like each other
Anonymous
Yep. He's amazing.

Used to be. Times change

Yes he is. The person who knows me best and still loves me just the way I am... and I am very far from perfect.
Anonymous
Nope. What's worse is that I no longer have a best friend.
Anonymous
No, I have close friends. Friendship is part of my relationship with my husband but he's my husband, not my best friend.
Anonymous
No way.
Anonymous
Absolutely.

We are closer each year.

I stopped having "best friends" in middle school.
