| I have a small skin tag on my lower eye lid (just below the rim) so no dermatologist will touch it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a plastic surgeon who does small things like this? And any idea how much it will cost me (try as I might, no way to pitch this as anything other than strictly cosmetic)? |
| no rec, but just a tip that you might get an ophthalmologist to do this. they do that sort of thing. |
| Dr. Feledy at Belmont Plastic Surgery is known to remove melanomas and moles etc. You could just call and ask for a ballpark price. Ask for Donna. |

I had two small moles removed on my face, and two on my back at my PS a couple of years ago. I think it was $400 for all of them. To be honest though, I was shocked when all she did on my skin tag was snip it off. Literally. Snipped. It. Off. And put a band-aid on it.
I could have done that myself! |
| my dad uses nail clippers on skin tags. doing that at your eye may be too much to ask, but like the PP's experience, there's nothing special to removing those. it just hurts. |
| So, I have one on my inner thigh I am dying to just snip off but the one time I almost did I could feel that it was going to hurt and stopped. So, my questions is, does it bleed? Because I keep thinking that if it hurts it has nerves in it so does that means it also has a blood vessel? Also, HOW BADLY does it hurt? |
I see this guy recommended on DCUM all of the time, probably by the same poster. Do you work for him??? Are you him??? |

It hurts, but its quick and done. Try freezing the area first to numb it. Skin tags are little, and won't bleed a lot. Just make sure everything is sterile and keep the (small) wound clean. |
| If I had to guess, I would say that the pain would be equal between getting an injection of lidocaine (which burns until it numbs) or a quick snip. Especially near the nose, like I had one of my moles - - that shot was exquisitely painful like none other! |
| This one is pretty gross, but my husband has done it for several skin tags over the years. Take a piece of very fine fishing line and tie it around the base of the skin tag. Make it tight. Cut the fishing line pieces short and wait a few days. The skin tag will fall off. Obviously, I wouldn't try this near your eye, but for other skin tags it seems to work. |
That's what they do to remove hemorrhoids. But they use rubber bands to cut off the blood supply. |
