Upper West Side, NYC

Looking for a hotel and restaurant recommendation for the Upper West Side in NYC -- just me and DH. Moderate price range -- $300/night for the hotel, dinner + wine = $100-$125ish.

I stayed at this hotel via Hotwire and was really surprised at how nice it was. My room was very large -- much bigger than most other NYC hotels I've stayed at. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but there are tons of places to grab something within a couple blocks.

'cesca restaurant is right nearby and is very good (upscale italian food). Dovetail is great if you want to spend a bit more (check out the NY Times review, they loved it).

Check out opentable.com for dinner options... you can sort by location for restaurants in the upper west side, then sort by price range, genre, etc. It gives links to menus and reviews as well.

Try the Lucerne at 79th and Broadway. We've stayed there with kids and, though I might pick something spiffier for a romantic weekend with DH, the location can't be beat.
