Tall kids vs Short kids in Middle and High school

Folks, tall kids have a disadvantage here. They have to undergo the same curricula as everyone else, but they also have to manage the fact that they are GROWING at a much faster rate than everyone else. This is a lot of extra burden placed on them.

Tall kids are not necessarily growing faster. Maybe they entered middle school already taller.

And the short kids have to manage all the bullying and ridicule heaped upon them, so.....it all evens out??

+1 My short 13 year old feels insecure because he's so short. Luckily he gets straight As and has some good friends.

I just looked back and checked my son's growth records. He grew 10.5 inches in middle school. He did fine.

This is so absurd. And whatever disadvantage you think tall kids have doing all that growing they get back ten fold with professional and social benefits of just being tall.

My DS is halfway through 8th grade and he is on track to grow 10 inches since he started middle school. He is also the shortest kid in the grade and has been for years. All of the other boys look like men and mine looks like a small, skinny boy.
