Expectant and Postpartum Moms
Any recommendations?
When I lived in Chevy Chase I did Prental yoga at Tranquil Spaces in Bethesda (in the exit of the metro station) and LOVED it there.
Willow Street - they have classes in Silver Spring and Takoma Park. I took prenatal yoga from 12 weeks to 41 weeks and really loved it.
What are the class sizes like at Tranquil Spaces and Willow Street? Are they *really* suitable for folks who have never done yoga before, and aren't really athletes otherwise?
I LOVE my prenatal yoga class at Willow Street. They have a prenatal 1 and prenatal 2 class, so the prenatal 2 is for women with previous yoga experience (that's the class I'm in so I can't speak to how geared prenatal 1 is to beginners). The instructors are fantastic about showing modifications to poses. They also give a couples prenatal yoga class and postnatal yoga series.
I did the prenatal yoga at Blue Heron Wellness in Silver Spring. I'd never done yoga before and I loved the class and instructor, Carrie Ganz. She's also a doula and I think she teaches at Willow Street as well.
