| For items that require dry cleaning- do you get them cleaned every time you wear them? Does it depend on the item? My sister pointed out that we don't wash bras everytime we wear them and that is the close to the body. Obviously that doesn't hold true for underwear but I am just wondering if I am overcleaning my clothes. I am not an idiot if I spill or it stinks i am cleaning it, but if it looks Ok?? I think they can air out too. Just curious what others think. |

You want to have things drycleaned as little as possible. The formulas destroy fabric fibers and too much dry cleaning will lead to early death. A suit should be drycleaned maybe twice a year if you don't spill on it.
It is just as important to hang up your garments and air them outside of the closet. Once in the closet, garments should never be packed together. A big seller today are those portable steam machines that refresh clothing. The item gets zipped into a long hanging bag and fresh steam refreshes the garment and releases trapped particles. There are also fabric brushes to use for your wools and other sturdy fabrics. |
| I get stuff drycleaned at the end of a season, and before that only if it needs it (dirty, crumpled from travel, etc.). So usually a few times a season. But I change out of work clothes the second I get home and I hang them up right away. |
