Woman poisons husband with anti-freeze

She's facing 25 years in prison. They were already separated. Really - was it worth it? Why wouldn't she just move on?




Renee Burke, 40, of Holbrook on Long Island, allegedly tried to kill her husband, Matthew Burke, at least three times by placing the chemical in multiple beverages to be consumed by her husband, Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy D. Sini announced in a press release Thursday, describing the case as "extremely troubling."

The couple did not live together, and Matthew Burke had full custody of their two children, while Renee Burke had visitation rights, ABC New York station WABC reported.

All three alleged attempts occurred in September, according to a criminal indictment filed in Suffolk County. On Sept. 6, Matthew Burke drank a glass of wine but discarded it when he noticed a "strange taste and smell," according to the prosecutor's office.

She looks 40 - and sleep deprived and upset. Possibly with a history of substance use or mental illness) given she doesn't have custody of her kids) that has aged her further.

Sounds like she was angry, bitter and resentful and didn't want him to move on and live a happy life with their kids.

Here is the other pic of her. She has lost a lot of weight as well. Drug use plus weight loss plus losing custody of your kids plus being arrested for attempted murder is going to age you.

She must have gotten the idea from one of those Dateline or Forensic Files or 48 Hours shows, I know I've seen more than one where antifreeze was the poison of choice.

Her poor kids. And ex.

Hopefully they can move past this but an incarcerated parent who tried to murder your other parent and used you to help in this is a burden to bear.

There are pics of her on her Facebook page from two years ago and a year ago - they could be any mom and kids. Looks like normal life and she looks much healthier.

They found multiple google searches in her phone about how to kill someone with household products.
