This is a petty thread. I will get that out of the way now. I like MIL and BIL, and I don't have an "issue" here. I just want to be catty on an anonymous message board because I was kind of grossed out this past week when single adult BIL (well, he has a gf) and MIL were acting like a couple the entire week. Cuddling close on the couch, walking around with arms around each other's waists. She makes goo goo eyes at him and talks in a high pitched, coquettish voice. Blech!
Thanks for listening

As a follow up, FIL passed away many years ago and MIL remained single. I do think the relationship with BIL is kind of enmeshed. Do you guys think this is weird too or normal?
I think it's weird. I know someone like that too, in fact, I thought I knew who you were until you mentioned the FIL had passed.
Weird. And you are a better person than I. I’m not sure I could’ve tolerated that for a week.
I think that’s pretty weird ?
Weird
Odd. My 2 young adult sons have been home for a week and nobody walked around with their arm around me. They have thanked me for the continuous food though!
|
My DS12 won't even hug me- well, he tries to get me to bribe him for hugs and I told him "no bribes for hugs" because I'm raising him right and teaching him to respect himself and his own wishes.
So yeah, it's a little weird. |
My MIL who I love dearly is like this with DH. It’s weird and it grosses him out even more than me. I just laugh bc he’s visibly squirming. I’m a mom of boys and hope I don’t do that!

I was maybe going to give her a pass until you got to the part where MIL is actively flirting with him.
WEIRD. |
They are banging
Yuck. Creepy. :-p
Very weird. Does BIL act differently around her too?
Is his name Norman?
My mother once made a remark about my brother’s trim waist size and it grossed me out. They are totally enmeshed btw, and my dad passed this year so it is even worse.
