Has anyone just renewed a passport without expediting? How long did it take to receive?

I just overnighted my passport renewal yesterday and today went on the passport website and saw that it is a 4-6 week turnaround. I am flying out in 3.5 weeks. Someone told me that it took only 10 days to get their passport back (over the summer) and I relied on that advice. If it doesn't arrive before I have to leave, what are my options? I didn't see that addressed on the website. Also, I can't go downtown to the Passport agency since it is more than 2 weeks before my departure.

I got mine back in about 14 days from the day they logged it in their system. It said it would take 4-6 weeks, but didn't take nearly that long.

Did you expedite? At any rate, I think you'll likely be fine - I got mine back within 3 weeks, probably less, a couple months ago.

As for your options - not sure. If it's 4 or so days out and you don't have it, call someone, anyone, until you get someone who can actually tell you what to do.

You may want to contact a passport service, they may be able to help expedite things even though you already sent it in. I'm using abriggs.com and so far they seem pretty on the ball.

I renewed right before Christmas last year. It only took two weeks. I remember thinking wow that quick!
