I am so tired of buying boxes of Clementines that are just not good. I got a mesh bag of them at WF which were perfect-- but they are out of them and only have the boxes now. Has anyone gotten great Clementines, and where did you get them? (recently)

Got some great ones at Safeway in Kensington last weekend.
But, it's always a crapshoot as to whether or not they will be good. |
My husband often gets good ones at Trader Joe's.
Costco
I don't think it is quite Clementine season - I would expect them to be better in another month.
Look for the ones from Israel or Spain. Those are far superior to the ones from Florida.
Agree with the PP. Wait until December. Also, avoid the clementines that were grown in the US. They're the worst. South American clementines are so much better.
I bought some from spain, they were horrible, and I returned them for a full refund without a receipt. I always return stuff like that if it isn't good.
Really? I find TJ's produce generally goes bad pretty quickly. |
I look for clementines when they're in season. They also have to be small and with skin that's loose. Sometimes they sell small tangerines in a clementine box, which is always a sour rip-off.
