Have you ever tested your kid for dyslexia?

If yes, did you do it through the school or through a private specialist?
How old was your child when you did it?
Mine is in the 2nd grade, and I really feel I need to do it...

yes, between 1st and 2nd grade. Did the whole battery of tests through a private tester/psych although school was not an option because it was an indpendent school that doesn't provide those services.

OP here: Thank you so much for your response! Could you kindly tell how expensive was a private testing? Could you also recommend this specialist?

Even when you are in a private school, one should check with the county/city school system you live in. We live in MCPS and were surprised that we can actually ask for evaluation via the county and get certain kinds of services even though we are in private.

Worth asking, at least.
