| Looking for recs for where to get a custom ice cream cake for my 3 year old's party. Should feed about 20 adults and 8 kids. Would need to be able to pick up in North Arlington or near Takoma DC. TIA. |
| Carvel |
| Thomas Sweet in Georgetown. |
| Giant carries Carvel cakes that have white space for writing a custom message. Buy a tube of frosting. |
Yes, and they are the good kind (IMO) made completely from ice cream, not the kind with a layer of cold cake and a layer of ice cream. We have asked nicely at the bakery and they have piped on a message for us. |
OP here - thanks all! Do you know what flavors the Giant cakes come in? |
Oh my god, just call them and ask! It's not our job to do all your parenting work for you. |
|
I too like the Carvel Cakes. Giant has always been very nice about piping on the wishes.
Are you near a Baskin Robbins? Their ice cream cakes are very good and they do a great job with the decorations. |
| OP, if you do go with Carvel and it's frozen really solid, just run your knife through hot water and the pieces will cut much easier. |

If you just want a custom message, get a Carvel cake (classic and delicious if not the highest quality)
You can get custom (ice cream and filling choice cakes) from Baskin Robbins or Cold Stone too. But really, why pay more when a Carvel cake is so amazing (CRUNCHIES!) |
I thought it was baskin Robbins that had the crunchies not carvel? Maybe they both do? |
Both have crunchies. Baskin Robbins will have more decorated options/custom options and I prefer their ice cream. |
| Don't go with a fancy ice cream cake...seriously we got baskin Robbins for my son last year for his birthday and did only ice cream(no cake just two ice creams layered between crunchies). It was so so delicious. Everyone commented on it. |
| Thanks all! I think I'm going to go with Baskin Robbins so that I can customize it. I appreciate the suggestions. |
