Richmond hotels

I am looking for recommendations for hotels in Richmond. We are visiting family who live in The Fan. I think we'd prefer a suite.

The Jefferson. We love it.

We used to live in The Fan. I think you'll have a great time.

The Jefferson is beautiful and it's close to The Fan. If your family is in the lower Fan, you could even walk it. It's pricey, though, and there's not much to do around there. Close the The Jefferson is a new Doubletree (used to called something else and the name's escaping me). It's an older building, but it's nice because Doubletree completed renovated it when they bought it a couple of years ago.

If you want to be closer to downtown, you can't go wrong with The Berkeley. It's my favorite hotel in the city and some of the rooms have balconies that front Cary St. The Omni is around the corner from The Berkeley and it's also nice.

A little further away in the suburbs is a brand new Westin. It will probably have more to offer in terms of suites.

Skip The Sheraton West and the Crowne Plaza.
