Has anyone used the Nordic Track RM900 rower? How is it as a rowing machine? How is the interactive program compared with the Peloton (other than the obvious: one is a bike, one is a rower)? Is it worth the cost? Are the less expensive models just as good (other than the screen)? |
I went searching for reviews of this rower and just found this one thread with no responses so bumping it up to ask if anyone has the nordictrack rower. I know there's a lot of love for the Concept2, which I also love (have used at the gym) but am intrigued by the screen-based workouts on the nordictrack. Since the peloton rower is still probably a year away, I'm looking into this one. Any reviews? |
bumping this. I am going to buy a rower now that winter is coming (I normally bike outside) and I am on the waitlist for the Concept2, wait is about 7 weeks now. I found reviews of hte Nordictrack 900 and 200. the 900 is more than i want to spend, so i wonder if anybody has used the 200 (or even the 500) and can give an opinion. i can get the Nordictrack next week and the warranty is 5 years so I am open to consider this if others have used it and it works well. I am not too interested in interactive classes. thanks |
I have the hydrow (which is more expensive— reviewers often call it the peloton of rowers) and love it. I would totally recommend a rower with a screen over the concept 2 just because unless you are a super dedicated rower I think you aremore likely to learn proper form and also to use the connected rower.
A lot of online reviews say the rw900 is a better value than the hydrow but I’ve also seen comments that the video production of the hydrow workouts are better. I would look at training tall’s youtube feed to see if he has a review of the nordictrack, or maybe dark horse. |
I’m extremely disappointed with iFit’s customer service and exorbitant spare parts pricing. My RW900 rowing machine, lightly used for just two years, had a console failure. After escalating to the Better Business Bureau, iFit offered a mere 40% discount on a new console—still over $500 with taxes and shipping, nearly 25% the cost of a new machine. This pricing is unreasonable and clearly exploitative. Worse, there’s no option to trade in or refurbish the broken console, showing iFit’s disregard for environmental sustainability. Buyers should beware: once you own an iFit machine, you’re trapped in an inflated spare parts scheme. #iFit |
I will say I really like the iFit programs!! We have the bike from Costco and had it repaired under warranty which was fine but this was five years ago. |
We have a Concept2 used on my own or sometimes with Apple fitness. Good luck! |
