Process for requesting a new (early) IEP evaluation in DCPS?

| What is the best way to request a new & early evaluation for my child in DCPS?? Our Developmental Neurologist and primary care both agree it would be beneficial for our child to have a updated evaluation. Should we write up a letter with the reasons for the new evaluation specified?? We definitely have some targeted areas to look at but a full evaluation would be helpful. A Social Emotional, Behavior, Memory Retention and Attention. Based on our last appointments & short evaluations in office as well as teacher feed back our child seems to be of average intelligence. But does have some delays and concerns. At this point the Evaluation and goals done at 3 years old are only partly on target. As they grow and change so much from 3 to 5 years. So, any tips on doing this and making sure we do not lose any services... I have heard horrible stories about dcps pushing people out . and of course other that love the services |
