Drug Testing of Staff and Teachers?

Does anyone have information on drug testing for teachers and staff? Are there scheduled tests or random testing?

I can't imagine that their contract would permit this.

I've taught in public schools in three states - NEVER heard of faculty/staff being tested.

From where are you retrieving your information? I've been in Mo Co for years and not once has this ever surfaced?

This is interesting. Hopefully all teachers and staff are drug free, but how would one know for certain? There are no regulations on this?

Anyone that does drugs knows just how common drug use is. There are drug users in EVERY profession. Of course if there's testing done it will help curtail this. One of my former best friends is a heavy meth user. I couldn't believe it when she was hired at a private school in DC. It's a shame really because I knew her pretty well and I can't think of anything worse than someone like her teaching kids. And parents paying for the privilege.

Yes, we had a neighbor who had been teaching for a long time who was noticeably under the influence of something other than alcohol on many occassions. This person is still teaching at the same school.
