Baptism/Christening

Hi, my son is being baptised at the end of the month. He's almost 2 and I am wondering what he should wear? We look awful in white (we are really really pale) and the only thing I am finding online are the incredibly cheesy white mini tuxedos.
Any input?

There are a lot of cute Easter outfits for boys - I would chose something similar - don't have to be in white.

I think that whatever you and your family feel comfy in! If will be just you all and the priest

How about a seer-sucker suit for your son?

I do think it should be in white as it is part of the ritual--if it's Catholic. Of course, I doubt any priest is going to refuse because you are not wearing the right color but thought you should know.

We just had our DS baptized this month in the Catholic church. He wore ivory flannel dress pants, a matching ivory flannel button down and a light blue sweater vest. The woman from the church who led the "pre-Baptism" class insisted that there was no dress code; he could wear whatever we wanted him to wear. However, I will note that the priest made several references to his "white and blue" outfit and it seemed as if he would usually just reference a white outfit at those times. There was also a baptism after ours and the little boy was not wearing white.

white isn't part of the ritual--unless you have a nutso priest he won't care.

You might want to check with the priest to find out if there is a religious requirement for your child to wear white. Also, ivory is a good alternative color. Although we all want to look good in the photos, please remember the purpose of this occassion.
