Looking for classic black pump for work that is classic and comfortable. Would like it to be fashionable too. Any suggestions?
Try www.endless.com -- they have a wide selection and free shipping. If you're looking for a basic pump with a moderate heel try the Bandolino Berry pump. It's very reasonably priced, comes in several colors, and is comfortable.
op here. I really like endless site thanks!
I have to dress pretty formally for work every day and wear black pumps a lot. My absolute favorites are the Cole Haan pumps with the Nike Air technology. They are very comfortable even at the end of the day and have stayed in good shape after many wearings (they are pricey though).

I spent 5 hours researching this very topic (after reading Amanda Brooks wonderful book "I "heart" Your Style", which I really recommend), and found the absolute best pair right here: http://www.zappos.com/vigotti-mariel-black-leather?zlfid=111
They are on sale. And they are fabulous. I recommend ordering .5 to a full size smaller than what you normally wear, as they run large. They fit like a dream. I tried to buy them in the cognac color but they did not have my size. I almost cried. |
OP here- fwiw ended up getting some Tahari heels on sale at Saks. They were comfortable, classic and well priced for a good quality shoe. I liked the cole haan concept they just weren't a good fit for my narrow foot. thanks for the helP!
I just received the pair I ordered after seeing this post. They're perfect for me! Comfy and my hubby says they're sexy Thanks!

he he he! I had to exchange and I noticed that they were no longer on sale after this post! I had to call to get them to honor the sale price! They are the bomb. One of the more obnoxious posters in the clog thread said that cheap leather always looks cheap -- and she is actually right about this. However, her examples of "non-cheap" leather shoes were all in the over $300 range, and included brands like Prada etc. I won't pay over $300 for a shoe unless it's a boot meant to take a beating and last forever. I think the leather on these Vigotti's is beautiful and my husband likes them too. It's a sexy, but not too sexy shoe for the office. Other brands that look good that do not cost a fortune include Franco Sarto, Via Spiga, and some others that just aren't coming to mind right now. There's also bargain shopping -- Bluefly and smartbargains.com often have top brands, like Elie Tahari, on sale. I just bought the last Elie Tahari Hannah trench coat that existed on-line, anywhere, marked down from over 300 to less than 100. You just have to shop smart.
OMG- I am in breastfeeding world! I thought this post was about a black breastpump!!! hahaha. I was wondering why you needed a fashionable breastpump for work!
Another vote for the Cole Haan's with Nike Air cushioning. You can get them at a good discount during their sales (both in-store and on-line).
Every time I read this subject line I think the poster wants to know if there is a black breast pump for work. Because seriously, someone WOULD ask that on DCUM.
