I don't go to TJ's that often, but had to drop DS at a birthday party and had an hour to kill so I wandered over.
They were giving out samples in the store, and pretty much everyone who tried it seemed to be buying the ingredients! Organic Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato soup (in the box) Chimichurri Rice with Vegetables (frozen section) Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage (refrigerated case) Just slice the sausage into rounds and mix everything together in a pan and heat through. Kind of a stew consistency (sort of Indian-style) and a little bit spicy and really flavorful. Ratio is one to one to one, so you can use the entire package of all 3 things (I made half the recipe for me, DH and two little boys and served with crusty bread). Total cost was about $10 (really $5 since I halved it!) and this was SO yummy! Serve with bread to soak up the extra sauce. Definitely going to make this again since it'll takes only 5 min to throw together after work. |
| You know it must be that soup! I learned this recipe from TJs: mix tomato soup with Mini meatballs (freezer section) and pasta or gnocci. really easy and tasty! |
| Thanks for this! I love tasty 5 minute recipes! |

OP here.
16:24 - you're probably right. All three ingredients were pretty tasty and flavorful, but the soup by itself was also delicious! I wish I had bought two boxes so I could bring one to work for lunches. I never would have thought to use the soup as a base/sauce for a recipe, but it's a great idea. I'll definitely make this one again - I need more "5-minutes, one pot, no measuring" recipes! |
| My co-worker made this for a potluck. I thought it tasted "frozen-foodey". |
Too funny! We just had a TJs meal tonight - frozen white roughy and eggplant caponata - defrosted and cut up the roughy and stir fried with the eggplant caponata, served with a salad and angle hair with a light butter sauce ... in 15 minutes you have a delish dinner. LOVE the TJ samples

| TJ's is for poseurs. |
Or parents who don't have time to cook. I used to be a good cook but the skill has evaporated along with the rest of my brain cells. It's subsistence living. |
