| So do you just put it in your hair (following directions) and then get in the shower to rinse it out? Or do you have to rinse it out in a sink so the dye doesn't get all over your body? Is it just the labor factor that makes it different than getting it done in a salon or is the OTC hair color really awful for your hair? What about the new Frederic Fekkai dye? Anyone try that yet? |
| I use Garnier Nutrisse and just follow the directions. Keep an old rag handy for wiping up any drips, and don't wear anything you wouldn't want to get stained or need to take off over your head. Your hair should be dry and not super clean. After, just wash it out and shower as normal. I color at home because it's cheaper, faster, the result looks as good as a salon (I'm not blonde), and the home coloring doesn't seem as harsh as salon color (and doesn't irritate my scalp like salon color). Tip: go a shade lighter than you think you need. |
| When I rinse, I do it in the tub, under the faucet, crouching with my head bowed under the running water. This minimizes splatter. Then I usually shower. |
that's how I used to do it. Now, I just have a shower, and use that instead, leaning far back and making sure my eyes are shut well. OP, get one of the more expensive brands ($12 box instead of $5 box) and get it within a shade of your original hair color, and it will look fab. If you try to change the color too much, chances are it will look really fake. |
Oh, I just saw you were asking about the Fekkai haircolor. Never tried it myself but it looks interesting. I'd try it. |
