Universal Screener scores does it help GBRS?

Does high score in FCPS universal screener Reading and Math help school committee give some credit in GBRS for 2nd grade AAP selection?

My guess is it probably gives the classroom teacher an idea of where the kid falls in math and reading groups, etc which in turn probably factors in to the GBRS

No. You do not need to include anything the school already has. You want to show things that the child is doing inside of school.

I wouldn't do anything with the universal screener now, but if your child is above grade level in both subjects, I'd use it as evidence in an appeal.

My guess is that they will count as much as tests like the DRA counted. Nice to have, but not really that important. The universal screener should end up identifying more students who are intellectually gifts but have something that has masked it (eg dyslexia).

The screener identifies possible skill deficits. That’s all. Not used for AAP at all.

You are wrong. We verified with the VP and the classroom teacher that grades DRA results and other factors help school determine the GBRS.
