Sorry if this question was posted before, but my son's got a pretty bad cold and horrible cough. To the point he wasn't going 2 minutes without coughing (until I gave him his nebulizer treatment and now he's settled down). He has no fever (I've been checking daily because he has asthma).
We're going to the doc tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else here had the swine flu without a fever. He's got every other symptom, and the cough itself is particularly unnerving. |
| Yes, you can have it without a fever. I know 2 people who tested positive with no fever (child and parent in the same family tested positive with NO fever, and another sibling in the family also tested positive but DID have high fevers). I believe my son had it (our ped didn't want to test him) and he also had no fever. I did some searching online and it turns out that in many cases, people do not have fevers but are positive for H1N1. |
| Thanks. I doubt his pedi will test him tomorrow, either. There's just something about this cough that seems worse than his regular infections, RSV, parainfluenza, and everything else he's caught along the way. |
