I see the OPM health insurance rates that a non-postal fed employee and the employer pay for full time employees. My question is whether I (the employee) would pay part of the employer portion while I am on a combination of LWOP and paid time off. Would the answer be different if I leave the federal government while on this combination of LWOP and paid time off (i.e. before returning to full paid employment). I'm trying to get an answer from HR, but it is a slow process and we need to make a decision soon (before my husband's open period closes).
