Question for scarf gurus...

I really like the look of skinny scarves in the fall/winter - not the kind you wear over your coat but the kind you drape around your neck over a sweater or shirt.

I have never been a scarf person so don't really know where to buy these, how long they should be, what styles of shirt they work best with. I lead a very casual lifestyle. Can anyone enlighten me?

Scarves are best worn with out a collar to get in the way. T-necks OK.

Best length should be in proportion to your body and in what style you will tie them. Know you will tie them before buying them. Too many buy scarves that are too small and then can't tie them.

Best ways: Start in front with middle of scarf around neck and ends to back. Cross ends and bring forward so ends are now hanging in front. Leave alone or loosely connect them.

Take long, skinny scarf and fold in half. Take loop end in hand and part with loose ends in the other. Put around neck with both ends in front. Pull loose ends through loop. Don't keep it tight around neck. Enjoy!

Where is a good place to purchase?

Almost every clothing store offers scarves. Depends upon your style and budget. Might start with a large department store which will probably carry one of the largest selections.
