| Just went to McKinley and had to get Sanofi for me (pregnant) and my 16 month old. I requested Novartis but they didn't have any. I am assuming the Sanofi is still safe since I made it very clear that I was pregnant. What are the main differences in Sanofi vs Novartis? First worried about getting the dumb shots and now I am worried about this..never ends! |

This is info on the different vaccine types. Looks like single doses have no mercury.

| I just went to McKinley and they gave me the Novartis (pregnant). Saw the label (put the sticker) on the form and everything. However, regardless--you will be just fine. In my opinion, we are both safer today. |

This is an excellent table on the Thermisol quantities of all vaccines, including all H1N1 by different manufacturer and dosage:

From this chart, I'm not understanding why so many of the pregnant women on this board have been looking for Novartis instead of Sanofi. Looks like the exact same thimerosal quantities to me. What am I missing? |

If you got SINGLE DOSE Sanofi, you got NO mercury.
If you got MULTIDOSE Sanofi, you got 25 mcg of mercury. |
| We were there today. It is the multidose Sanofi with mercury. |
| I don't think the single dose Sanofi is available yet. |
| OP here--so now that I have lost sleep over the whole mercury thing, possible risk to my unborn child, my 16 month old... what is the potential risk involved with this amt of mercury? I have been researching online and finding from one extreme to the other. Someone that knows.. help! |
| People have been getting shots with mercury in them for decades. Relax. |
| You eat that much mercury every week - more if you eat seafood. It goes into your blood stream and comes out in your urine. |
| the mercury in seafood and the mercury in the shots are different kinds of mercury |
thank you for pointing this out! it's true indeed. |
Yeah, but the mercury in a shot is excreted faster, which is better. |
I should have said stool. |
