Bay Area housing price

Was looking a bit after getting some offers from some tech firms. How on earth do people buy houses in that market? A 10,000 sft lot is like 2 million alone in PALO alto, Cupertino or Mountain View. Anything above 3k sft is automatically 3 million plus.

yep.. that's why we move out of there. Not worth it when you have school aged kids as the public schools are severely underfunded (some districts asking for $1500/child per year for things like art and PE), trying to save for retirement and college. And we were making $350K. Most people there are now slaves to their mortgages. We didn't want that.

True... I miss being able to go for a walk, to the park, having a bbq 365 days/year, though not recently with all the fires.

WTF? Are you daft? Fall spring is great, summer at the pools, and maybe some cozy winter months if you don’t like snow.

Anyways, people in Bay Area spent plenty of time indoors working long hours to pay their mortgages

This is hilarious! I have lived in both D.C. and SF. Correct, Fall and Spring for a total of four months are lovely. Bay Area is soooo much better overall.

Because the early employees of those companies with stock options are cashing in stock and buying the houses in Mtn. View, Cupertino, etc. My sibling did that--joined one of the big ones 10 plus years ago out of college.

People getting hired now by the big companies in "normal jobs" aren't really going to be able to do that, unless they are super-in-demand.
