Report from Alexandria

My MIL just called me and said the line is around the block. She got there at 8 (clinic opens at 9) and her place in line is on the other side of the building from the entrance.

Spoke with my MIL again. She is still in line. They are doing 300 people an hour. The gym is really warm, so much so that the woman in front of her just passed out and they called 911.

The City of Alexandria is on Twitter and Facebook. They have reported up to 1200 in line and 2.5 hour wait. Last report, more than 30 minutes ago said still giving numbers to those in line. They have, or I guess started with, around 2000 doses.

I've been in line since 9:00, and it's now 1:20. I'm finally in the gym (where it's quite comfortable) and should be getting my shot soon. If someone had told me I'd be waiting this long, I would not have came, that's for sure!

Hundreds of people lined up in a warm gym? And no one will catch anything standing there for hours? Hmmm.

I went there at 7:30 am and got my shot at 10:55 am. So about 3.5 hours which is okay. There were a lot of people line up mostly in the hallways to the gym, not the gym itself. It was not that warm. I think the problem may be people bundled up for the wait in the cold outside, then do not take their winter jackets off when they come into the building.
